Your Guide to Elevator Maintenance Contract Prices

Elevator maintenance contract prices can be an average of $3,500 to $10,000 a year. However, many different factors go into making the final elevator maintenance contract price. If you want to know what your final price will be, it’s best to know these and use them in your calculators.

Read on to learn about some factors connected to the prices of elevator contracts.

Parts and Tasks

Oftentimes, an elevator maintenance company will offer levels of maintenance plans that get more thorough the more expensive they get. For example, one contract level may only offer inspection. A higher level can include inspection plus cleaning, repairing, and replacing parts.

The number of parts involved can also raise or lower the price. Certain contract levels may only cover the maintenance of certain parts. To get more parts handled, you will probably need to pay a higher price.

Another option is to pay for certain maintenance tasks and maintenance of parts separately. That is, you can have a set maintenance plan and then have the elevator technicians perform certain tasks on an as-needed basis. This can help you make sure that technicians are not performing unnecessary tasks.

Exclusion

Certain situations may be more complicated than the one’s technicians usually deal with. To make sure that they don’t lose money on more sizable tasks, elevator maintenance companies will often have ‘exceptions’ on their contracts. If one of these situations happens, you will probably have to pay a separate cost to deal with it.

A situation where your elevator has obsolete parts is a good example. These will often require a lot more time and effort to keep in good shape than more modern parts. As such, it’s only fair that you should have to pay more for these.

Duration

Many elevator maintenance companies offer different pricing for contracts of different durations. Some contracts can last as long as twenty-five years. Usually, an elevator maintenance company client can get a cheaper price if they sign on for a longer contract.

However, you should be cautious before signing a very long contract. It may be safer to purchase a shorter contract first and keep an eye on the company’s efficiency. You can always purchase a longer contract later.

Frequency

The number of times your elevator or elevators receive maintenance is another factor that can affect the price. Aside from certain deals, an elevator contract with more frequent maintenance will probably cost more than one with less frequent maintenance. This can be worth it, however, to keep your elevator at its safest level for your customers.
